projecthouse.jpg - 8059 Bytes This house is currently brick, and therefore much more costly and difficult to move with the facade as-is. Nickel Bros. strongly believes in giving this house the best chance of being saved, so we have decided to make it one of our first "Project Houses." We have intentionally kept the cost of adopting (and moving) the house to a minimum compared to our other Seattle house stock. Just $70,000.00 delivered to your local Queen Anne receiving lot location!!

However, this is under the condition that you take the house on as a "project" in terms of the prep work for the house move. We can give you a step-by-step guide to how to strip out the basement and prepare the house for our loading it onto the steel beams. In addition, the brick siding will have to be removed. You may choose to replace it with cedar shingle siding, lap-siding, or even "board-and-batten" Hardie board siding as another affordable alternative. We are also pricing it to move only the main two-story portion of the house (see aerial photos). It is possible that the rear two-story addition can be included in the move at no extra charge, but it depends on the delivery route and road widths, etc. However, moving the right-hand brick addition (sans brick) would be at an additional cost and also may be limited based on delivery route. We suggest you take a look at the house and determine what is worth moving and what is more valuable to leave behind and add on as a new addition!

We will be excited to see what your ideas are on this project house! Please contact our office and have them page Jeff McCord, Nickel Bros. House Moving's Seattle Representative, for more information.

FEATURES
This 1918 grand colonial has 2930 sq/ft of space with 1670 on the main floor and 1220 on the upper floor. It is located near the South end of Queen Anne hill and would have to be kept in the general local area (within blocks of its current Queen Anne location) because of its size and where it is located. With a house move like this one, there are a few options that exist:

  1. The house can be moved a very short distance with the majority of the house intact. However, the rear and side additions will significantly limit the distance it can be moved.
  2. The original central portion of the house can be moved for a longer distance (but still only blocks within Queen Anne). Due to the fact that the house has a brick facade, interested buyers may wish to compare the cost of moving it with and without the brick facade. Without the facade the house can be resided in shake or lap siding, creating a different architectural look and feel. The interior features colonnades, French doors, unpainted trim, leaded-glass window details, and many other charming features.
