Moving the 1907 Home from King George Terrace in Oak Bay ![]() The move begins! At 11am sharp, the 120 ton historical Redpath house is pulled out on to King George Terrace. ![]() The hydraulically controlled bogies under the rear of the home are steered to maneuver around the first set of obstacles. ![]() With inches to spare, the building is steered around adjacent obstacles, a transformer on the right and a tree on the left. ![]() The ramps are placed in an unusual fashion to allow the building to be jack knifed on to the barge. ![]() ![]() ![]() The crowd seems impressed as the barge is positioned in McNeil Bay. Anchor lines are being fastened and the crowd is pushed back a safe distance away. ![]() ![]() The Redpath House is successfully placed in location to the aft of the 140; long barge. ![]() On the way to our Victoria office where it was later purchased and now resides on one of the beautiful Gulf Islands.
